Assistant Merchandiser

REPORTING TO: Online Marketing & Merchandising Manager

AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY: Management of stock & supply, forecasting and systems maintenance

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Purchase stock within KPI targets.
• Be pro-active to use all available reporting to monitor demand changes and product status changes to adjust purchasing levels accordingly.
• Manage day to day communication with suppliers and build relationships to improve supply and stock availability
• Be pro-active and use all available reporting to prioritise the prevention of out of stocks to maximise stock availability
• Manage out of stocks to expedite orders and to provide alternatives to minimise the loss of sales.
• Effectively communicate long out of stock issues or supplier problems with buying team and Merchandiser and ensure this is dealt with.
• Ensure correct out of stock information on all products at all times in all systems
• Manage delivery due dates and the communication of supply to the fulfilment team.
• Maintain correct stock information in all company systems.
• Perform admin duties required for stock control; for example credits, stock adjustments and invoice queries
• Communicate and fully support the fulfilment team during urgent out of stock and supply problems.
• Perform administration forecasting requirements
• Fortnightly after hours stock update routines (rota shared with merchandiser)

Buying Assistant

REPORTING TO: Buyer

AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY: Product Selection & Buying

JOB PURPOSE: To assist Buyer in all aspects of planning and buying of the Party Pieces product range.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Maintaining product database accuracy at product level.
• Set up of all new products in time with catalogue production schedule.
• Ensuring samples arrive on time for product sign off.
• Collating all new images and filing these in appropriate files.
• Re-sizing, cleaning etc. of images ready for the web or catalogue
• Assist with organising photography.
• Attend supplier meetings where necessary.
• Liasing with suppliers on product information required for database.
• Product research where necessary.
• Assist Buyer in preparing layout folder for catalogue design.
• Project work (ie categorising all products, adult range preparation, seasonal range review etc).
• Range review analysis.
• Copywriting where necessary.
• Organise and maintain sample room.
• Supplier filing.
• Monitoring the competition/competitor reports
