What’s your child’s favourite party theme?
We’ve decided it’s about time we found out from all you parents out there, what you think are the hottest, most loved children’s party themes out there? Is it a jungle, pirate, football or a classic Thomas the Tank Engine party? And what do the party girls like at the moment? Is it princess, fairy or that adorable little white kitten, Hello Kitty?
Write your comments at the bottom of this post and let us know if there are any party themes you would like to see featuring on our site. Maybe you’ve recently organised a fabulous party with a theme none of us would have ever imagined? Tell us about it below.
You can also send us your party photos and we’ll post the best entries on our site.

Hi,
My daughter had a “Gurffalo” party for her 4th Birthday. The Gruffalo character is based on the book of the same name which she adores so we featured the party around the characters and the story.
We created a balloon forest, I created the characters myself, we had Gruffalo themed bags, party prizes, pin the wart on the Gruffalo, a Gruffalo cake and cupcakes etc!
The kids loved it and so did we!
My kids just loved this Rainbow theme! We had multi-coloured tableware and decorations!
My son’s most memorable party was the Pirate party he had for his 4th birthday. All the children dressed up as pirates and the garden was full of hidden treasure, palm trees and inflatable parrots! We used pirate galleon food boxes for party tea AND I even made a chocolate pirate ship cake!!!
I think a fantastic theme for a party is cowboys and indians….it suits boys and girls is dead easy to find dressing up stuff and great for theming the food as well. Does anyone know where you can find red check plates and tablecloths though.
My 6 year old granddaughter had an Olympic party at the beginning of July. We painted lanes on the grass and decorated the garden with Union Jack Bunting and Multi Nations bunting. We had lovely BIG ‘London’ helium balloons and a Team GB banner which we personalised for her. At the end of the races we held a medal ceremony where all the children lined up to get their gold medal while the National Anthem echoed out across the gardens. It gave everyone goosebumps when all the children joined in with the National Anthem – they didn’t falter (they had been learning it at school for the Jubilee)! It was such a great success.
She has requested a One Direction party theme for next year! I hope we will be able to get the party ware. Another mission!
I think an oscar birthday party would be such fun – great chance to dress up and have a red carpet up to the front door with photos taken as the children arrive and given to them in party bag when they leave.
