Make Your Own Party Invitations
Make your own pirate invites by creating a treasure map with your house marked with a cross, then staining it with a tea bag and leaving it to dry. Roll it into a scroll and tie up with red ribbon before you hand them out. You could also make your own Jolly Roger flag invitations using black paper with a white skull and cross bone. Make them special by using calligraphy font's, silver pens and glitter glue. We've also plenty of other party invitations for boys - browse all boys invitations »
Ideas for Pirate Party Decorations
Use a lawn sign and bunting to set the scene as your party guests arrive. Decide on your theme, will it be a tropical island or galleon ship setting. A cool ship setting can be created using barrels and old rope as decor. Bunting strung from each corner of the room about mid way up and meeting on the ceiling in the middle will give a ship rigging and sail effect.
We think one of the easiest and most effective scenes to create is the tropical island. The tropical island can incorporate many of our jungle accessories along with using a beach theme. Use jungle scene setters such as palms and beach backdrops to create a tropical island feel. Blue organza is perfect for the sea, for example you could drape it over your curtain rail and pin fish decorations and swirly blue garlands over it to create your ocean backdrop. Lot's of yellow paper garlands scattered across the floor are perfect for the sand.
Party balloons are a wonderful way to decorate a room. Mix up a selection of plain blue balloons with pirate theme balloons. Use blue or black ribbon to tie these onto the backs of chairs and let a few hang free from the ceiling to fill the blank spaces. Create balloon archways, clusters and columns to fill the doorways and corners of the room.
