Princess Party Food Ideas

1. Pink food is perfect for princess parties
There are so many wonderful pink foods you can buy such as marshmallows, teacakes and pink wafer biscuits. Natural pink dye can be made from beetroot, pomegranate and berry juices. For example if you are making some savoury rice, add a drop of beetroot juice and voila - pink princess rice! If you mix some crème fraiche with your tomato pasta sauce, this will create a pink pasta. Tomato sauce and mayonnaise make a perfect pink dip and helps you incorporate healthy vegetable snacks.

2. Magical themed food
In fairy tales, princesses are always surrounded by magical creatures such as witches, unicorns and dragons. Label food after magical themes with little white labels on cocktail sticks. Sausages can be called 'giants fingers', green jelly 'ogre slime', chicken wings 'dragons wings', ice cream cones 'unicorn horns' and coconut icing 'fairy dust'.

3. Dainty shapes
Transform ordinary sandwiches, cheese and pizzas into pretty shapes using cookie cutters. Use pink fillings such as pink tuna mayonnaise, ham or strawberry jam and stack them on tiered stands for the perfect princess tea party.

Another fun game to play is a variation on musical chairs where girls have to find an island to stand on when the music stops. Islands are so much easier then chairs!

A new party game idea based on a game from the practical parenting party book. Divide the children into pairs and ask them to sit facing each other. One child can be Snow Whites evil stepmother, and the other the magical mirror. Ask the evil stepmother to mime an action - then the mirror has to mimic these actions. Whoever laughs is out of the game! Winner's repair until there is one vs one in the final round!
